Application & Recovery Equipment Committee, Kevin Coursin, KMI Systems Inc., coursink@kmisystems inc.com The committee develops and implements technical seminars, workshops, and publications to educate finishers on all aspects of a powder coating operation. Members of the committee have recently volunteered to review the hands-on workshop presentations to expand the coverage on infrared ovens and streamline drying and curing sections, and the segment on testing of powders. They are also contributing technical papers and gathering case studies for the technical program of COATING 2008. In addition, they are reviewing the technical content in drafts of documents on guidelines for powder coating aluminum extrusions, general procurement guidelines for powder coating various metal substrates, and measuring first pass transfer efficiency. Custom Coaters Steering Committee, Chris Wright, Carolinas Custom Clad, ccwright@carolinascustomclad.com The committee works to promote and publicize the services of custom coaters to the finishing industry, and develops educational programs and seminars for custom coater members. Every March a seminar for PCI custom coaters is held in Las Vegas, and the committee is also planning a roundtable open to all custom powder coaters in September in conjunction with the COATING 2008 trade show in Indianapolis. Health & Safety/Test Procedures Committee, Eric Dumain, Reichhold Inc., eric.dumain@reichhold.com This committee serves as a liaison with key associations and technical societies serving the industrial finisher, such as ASTM, the EPA, and OSHA, and provides application, cost performance, and technological data to these organizations. The committee also develops and revises test methods relating to performance properties of powder coating.
