COATERS CORNER BY SHARON SPIELMAN THIS COATER IS CLASSIC Customer demand had exceeded what this Wisconsin custom coater was able to do in its 17,000 sq-ft facility, so they acquired a 65,000 sq-ft plant and now successfully operate them both. Read on for their story. W hen Classic Coatings Inc., an applicator of powder coatings, ceramic coatings, and specialty coatings that support the racing, restoration, commercial and industrial markets, had to farm out some of their work to meet customer demand, its owner, Brad Roberts, knew it was time to expand the operation. The original company in Sheboygan, Wis., was started about 15 years ago in a small rented building. According to Roberts, the previous owner was running a walkin powder coating business. He was into motorcycle racing and started doing parts for Buell Motorcycles.
