Although he left briefly to obtain his master’s and Ph.D. at the University of Kentucky, it wasn’t long before Cass returned. Four years ago he was hired to teach Spanish at Furman University, the same school he graduated from in 2000. Cass spent part of his college career learning the language by studying in Madrid, but his favorite college memory was meeting his wife, Anna. Cass has used his knowledge of the Spanish language to impact the Greenville community by translating materials for Greenville Walks and the Greater Greenville Shrinkdown into Spanish. He also has given healthy living talks in Spanish for Jeremy Cass Greenville’s Hispanic community and has volunteered with Spanishspeaking students and families at Monaview Elementary School. In the future, Cass plans to publish his first book and develop new courses. Most of all, Cass hopes to impact his students by being an effective and inspiring teacher. Heather Clark owner/President, liquid inc. Marketing Even with a five-year-old marketing business under her belt and a much-beloved 3-year-old daughter, Riley, at her side, Heather Clark continues to set goals for herself. She says she’d like to see Liquid Inc., her firm specializing in marketing, branding and business development, celebrate its tenth anniversary and eventually hopes to expand it to include an in-house staff. She says she’d also like to help S.A.V.E.D. (Saving Abuse Victims through Education and Dining), a domestic abuse education organization, become capable of impacting even greater change. And while these aren’t easy tasks, the freedom, flexibility and joy Clark enjoys about her job are sure to keep her motivated. Having already overcome cervical cancer in her early 20s, Clark seems capable of just about anything – including achieving her dream of capturing global adventures on camera for National Geographic. sales and oPerations Manager, libertY Mutual In 2003, Chris Collins achieved something no one else in his family had ever done: he earned a college degree.
