Experience - First and foremost, you don’t want to hire someone who is learning on your wedding. When it comes to important things like your cake, photographer, videographer, wedding coordinator/director, etc., you're better off with a professional. Credibility - Look for credible association memberships with a code of ethics and ask your circle of friends and other professionals for recommendations. Cutting Edge - Choose a professional that is up to date on the latest styles and trends.You should learn from them, not the other way around. Attend a bridal show where you can meet vendors face to face. Not every wedding business will meet your specific style or needs. At the shows, you can see the product, smell the flowers, taste the cake and decide which businesses are right for you. Stay in the comfort zone of your wedding professional. It’s great to be creative, but make sure you listen to the ideas of your wedding professional, instead of asking them to do something that is not a normal for them. Come up with your style but listen to their suggestions as to how they can create a version of that style, which they know they can produce. Get to know the wedding professional before making a purchase. Build a relationship with them and let them know what makes your wedding special to you.
