The winning entry was for Russian Standard Vodka. The detailed labels are printed in eight colors using high color control standards along with a roller-coat varnish. They are enhanced with gold foil to produce a deep, reflective sheen. Embossing adds the final touch and further improves shelf appeal. Chesapeake produces the labels at its plant in Hillington, Scotland. Vodka Label Wins Big Gerhardt, a manufacturer of cutting tools and associated products, partners with Jet Technologies, Sydney, Australia, a supplier of machinery and consumables to the narrow web market. The agreement is expected to strengthen market presence of both companies, giving existing customers an increase in available technical support from local representation. Gerhardt will continue to support customers for Jet and assist in providing training for Jet personnel. Toward that end, Pemara purchased an MBSF automatic butt splicer and LRD automatic rewind from Martin Automatic. The splicer/rewinder combination will be placed on a Gallus press. Pemara’s operation is very diverse, and its customers require a variety of printing methods including screen, offset, and digital.
