W O Slitter Meets Demands LENGNAU, SWITZERLAND | Peyer + Co. wanted a slitter/rewinder with high quality and fast speeds for the fabrication of hot stamping foil. The Swiss converter believes it has met those goals with a new machine from FAES (also headquartered in Switzerland). Andrea Cadonau, head of sales in the foil division at Peyer, says his company has been familiar with FAES for years in the field of thermal transfer foils “and were therefore aware of the superb quality of [their] machinery.” The slitter features a shaftless unwinding system that permits material widths between 1,000 and 1,600 mm, with a maximum outer diameter of 1,200 mm and a roll weight of almost 1,000 kg. Automatic loading of the jumbo roll is said to make the machine easy to use.
