Moss sales engineer. Videojet Technologies has agreed to acquire PRISM, Duluth, GA, a developer of variable data control products in the packaging and printing industries. The combined expertise of the two companies will create a single source to design and implement turnkey track-and-trace programs, including production line control systems, code generation and printing, data storage, and in-field Web portals. “…Videojet and PRISM have partnered on many track-and-trace initiatives over the past three years,” says Videojet president Craig Purse, “so the joining of these companies was a natural fit.” Prism will continue to operate as a separate business unit and will remain based in Duluth. 1. Arlon Joins with Signtech SAN ANTONIO, TX | Arlon Engineered Coated Products (ECP), a manufacturer of PSA tapes, reports a consolidation with Signtech, also of San Antonio, a div. of Bairnco Corp., specializing in the manufacture of sign products including Flexface, p-s films, and other vinyl materials. Signtech already has moved most of its operations into the Arlon facility, reportedly with no negative impact on customers. Signtech will continue to service customers out of both locations until the transition is complete.
