Jay Sperry of the Sonoco Inst. at Clemson says, the pumps “worked great and greatly assisted ink maintenance and changeover speed.” The Market Data Program of NPES, The Assn. for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing and Converting Technologies, celebrated 50 years of data gathering in 2007. Today, the program collects shipments data in nearly 200 product categories, including imaging/ prepress, systems and software, pressroom equipment, bindery/finishing, and graphic arts supplies. Shipments of graphic arts machinery and equipment were nearly $220 million in 1957. In 2006 total US shipments of printing equipment and graphic arts supplies were more than $3 billion. NPES provides the opportunity for all of its members to participate in the Market Data Program at no cost, adding the program is legally monitored and highly confidential.
