Sheeting Lines Bring Solutions SETÚBAL, PORTUGAL | Portucel Soporcel Group, a pulp and paper manufacturer, has added two cut-size converting and packaging lines from E.C.H. Will and Pemco at a new mill under construction in Setúbal. A third sheeting and packaging line has been agreed on as an option, to be added as the production curve of the paper machine rises. One line comprises a 16-pocket E.C.H. Will SLK 470 cut-size sheeter, two Pemco high-speed packaging lines, the latest in labeling and strapping technology, and two Langhammer highspeed palletizers. It has a 3.48-m working width, said to be the widest of its kind. The other line comprises an eight-pocket E.C.H. Will SLK 490 flexible cut-size sheeter, a Pemco flexible packaging line, and a palletizer from Langhammer. Hermano Mendonca, marketing director of the Portucel Soporcel Group, says, “We have worked very closely with E.C.H. Toray Growing in Europe NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI | Toray Industries, Tokyo, Japan, will establish Toray Films Europe (TFE) in Rhône-Alpes, France (on the same site as Toray Plastics Europe), for the production of Torayfan BOPP high-barrier metallized film. Toray Plastics (America) will drive the development of the new business’s film technology and help establish TFE as a core production base in Europe.
