Apertura y cierre
de los disyuntores
A principios de la década de 1900, el
cierre del disyuntor normalmente se ha-
cía con una operación manual o un mo-
tor. se incluían cerraduras para mante-
ner la posición cerrada. la apertura se
lograba soltando la cerradura para que
se pudiera liberar la energía del resorte
comprimido que se almacenaba durante
el movimiento de cierre. se podía soltar
la cerradura de forma manual o eléctri-
ca. A principios de la década de 1920,
los disyuntores de 220 kV tenían un
tiempo de interrupción de cerca de 12
ciclos: cuatro ciclos hasta el inicio del
arco seguidos por ocho ciclos durante
el arco. los requisitos de los sistemas
de potencia generaban una mayor capa-
cidad de interrupción y períodos más
breves de interrupción. el avance en
los períodos más breves de interrupción
dio lugar a una disminución de ocho a
cinco ciclos y se redujo más hasta llegar
al período más común de interrupción
de tres ciclos en la actualidad.
en la década de 1920, el funcio-
namiento de un disyuntor se lograba
normalmente con la energía de sole-
noides para cerrar y cargar los resortes
