Hunting & Trapping Digest 2008-2009 - (Page A11) Mentored Youth HE GAME COMMISSION has received many photos and letters expressing enthusiasm for the Mentored Youth Hunting Program, as these smiling faces show. The popular program is designed to allow youngsters under the age of 12 to gain hands-on experience and training in the favored pastime while afield. Mentors are responsible and accountable for all actions of the Mentored Youth, and must be licensed and 21 years or older. Only one youth may accompany a Mentor. Youth may pursue squirrels, goundhogs, antlered deer and spring turkeys. If you are passionate about hunting, this is the perfect opportunity to pass that passion on to your children and share the tradition with other youth, too.
