CHESTER — For eight years WCO Keith Mullin and I have had a specialized team of folks assist us with crime scenes. Michael Hott and Michael Little of the Chester County GIS (Global Information System) staff have come out to the scenes of hunting related shooting incidents, house shootings, safety zone violations and other cases to help. They use GPS technology and transfer on-the- ground evidence to an up-to-date color aerial photograph of the area and create a perfect birdseye view picture of the scene. TRAINING SCHOOL — One morning a fellow cadet was preparing for the day’s sessions. While professing how tired he was, a conversation ensued about how nice it would be if we were allowed to have coffee in the classroom. After a little debate, my fellow classmates and I realized that it wasn’t feasible to have coffee on a crowded desk next to our computers. The comment was no sooner said when that “tired” cadet knocked the computer off the desk by accident. As the computer bounced off the floor with a loud crash, we decided maybe coffee wouldn’t hurt after all. — CADET BRIAN C. SINGER, HARRISBURG

LANCASTER — I have the ringtone on my cell phone set as honking geese, and it often gets people looking skyward when it rings. I was at an HTE course and had a dead snow goose I found at Middle Creek to show the students. When my phone started ringing, one student asked, “Are you sure it’s dead?” — WCO DEREK A. Couldn’t Fool ’Em
MCKEAN — It so happened that the last day of the HTE class held at the Canoe Place Fish & Game Club near Port Allegany took place on April 1. As a joke, I announced to the 19 students that the instructors and myself had inadvertently skipped several chapters and it was necessary to schedule another session on the following Saturday. I expected to hear moaning and groaning, but the joke was on me when every student smiled and seemed glad for the extra day. The only moaning I heard, though, was when I told the class that it was an April Fool’s Day joke. I guess I have to give credit to the instructors for making the classes enjoyable. — WCO THOMAS M. Subletting?
The foreman from the Tioga County Food and Cover Corps crew observed six male bluebirds during the second week of February. One bird was perched on top of a Game Commission bluebird box, and as Allen watched, the other five birds exited from the same box, one right after the other. Knock, Knock?
M ERCER — When cleaning out my wood duck boxes in my backyard I found two dead frogs in one. Later in the day I noticed something sticking its head out of the same box.
