Two Afternoon By Bob Steiner S UNSETS are just as beautiful as sunrises. They're just in the other direction. Morning and evening sounds in the woods are all the same. So why would anyone crawl out of a warm bed to see the sunrise, hear the woods awaken and try to shoot a turkey? I don't. I have, but I don't anymore. The extended afternoon hunt, a relatively new feature of the second half of spring gobbler season, is 2 perfect for guys like me. When I retired I took off my watch and decided I was going to bed when I was tired, getting up when I felt like it and doing whatever attracted my attention on a given day. In May, there are so many outdoor options that I can no longer be an everymorning turkey hunter. Some days I'm not a turkey hunter at all.
