Twenty-five shooters, who are veterans from the Korean War, Vietnam, Desert Storm
through current wars and conflicts, participated in the 2014 York County Veteran's Shoot
held at the Starview Sportsman Club. The event was sponsored by the York County
Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs, the National Wild Turkey Federation York County
chapters, the Game Commission, and various clubs and local businesses from the county.
The vets participated in a round of sporting clays and then enjoyed a steak dinner, which
was provided free of charge thanks to various donations in York. There were door prizes,
including a Mossberg double-barrel shotgun. It was a memorable day for all those who
were involved, and we look forward to this event year after year.
Participating officers were Game Commission WCOs Shawn Musser (far left), Steve
Knickel (far right), and Fish and Boat Commission WCO Darrin Kephart.
