A N O T H E R ANIA RIFLE after the one carried by Bridger, it seemed appropriate to use it in the Rockies. hg hg hg I had taken a 5-by-5 bull on a rifle hunt in Colorado, and because only single-barrel rifles are legal during Colorado's muzzleloader season, my swivelbreech hunt would need to take place during the firearms season, as well. Because of all the extra preparation required to get both barrels of a swivelbreech printing at the same spot with the same loads, this hunt was special from the outset. Adding to the excitement was that it would be done with the type of rifle that had been used in the Rockies in the early 1800s. And the rifle "made meat" as I took a cow elk on my final afternoon in Colorado.
