Sand Addiction - August 2007 - (Page 16) Trick Racing the work, an aerospace machinist must do a lot of precision machining and top-notch quality craftsmanship on every part. There is no room for error. Dave Parsons, the other owner and co-founder of Trick Racing, has been involved with the manufacturing and fabrication of offroad cars for 25 years. Dave has been welding and doing fab work for such a long time he is known for putting out top quality work and should not be overlooked. With two good fabricators and great family support, Trick Racing produces a great sand/off-road car. With all that in mind, it was not hard for Jeff to pick the builder of his new car. What’s nice with most sand car manufacturers, the sky is the limit on what you want. From keeping it light and quick or adding hundreds of horse power with every possible option, there is something for everyone. For Jeff, his focus was an allaround strong, reliable car. Not too much, but also not too little. More of a happy medium. So, for the motor he went with an LS1 Darton Sleeve Block. The motor puts out 640 HP at the flywheel on pump gas. Now to get Jeff going on long dune rides from point A to B, the LS1 sucks up fuel pretty quickly. To extend his rides, Jeff has a 22 gallon fuel cell to help with his LS1 thrust problems. During those long rides a lot of discomfort can occur without the proper seats and suspension. Beard Ultra seats with King Shocks absorbing over 20 inches of travel should help with that issue. With the new duning season in the near future, Jeff is going to have a good time in his new car. 16 www.sandaddiction.com http://www.sandaddiction.com
