The Kubota/QU partnership will seek to develop and restore wildlife habitat nationwide. Minneapolis, Aug. 23, 2007 – Polaris Industries today announced Mafia Industries is its newest factory sponsored race team for the RANGER RZR. The partnership couples one of the industry leaders in short course racing with the hottest high performance Side by Side on the market. “We are excited to add Mafia Industries to our growing list of factory sponsored race teams,” said Craig Scanlon, Product Line Sales Manager for the Polaris Side by Side Division. “The RANGER RZR’s power, performance, and responsiveness coupled with Mafia’s racing and technical expertise will guarantee success on the short course.” Team Mafia will consist of three racers and a complete support staff which includes: Team Owner/Mgr, Jeff Smith Driver 1, Chad "Rockstar" Mittag -Been riding most of his life and is the only person to clear the 70-foot triple at Lake Elsinore. Driver 2, Travis "Pinky" Peterson- Team Mafia’s first driver and very influential in getting short track racing started. Driver 3, Corey "T-Rex" Macomber- Newest member of Team Mafia and ex-Pro Motocross rider. As a Premier QU Sponsor and the Official Tractors and Utility Vehicles of Quail Unlimited, Kubota is committing resources to national, regional, and local QU chapters and the wildlife organization’s many habitat restoration projects. In addition, QU and Kubota are fielding Habitat Improvement Teams (HIT) across the country to help educate private landowners and public land managers on how best to complete habitat improvements on their properties. A misinformed comment was published in regards to the RZRs malfunction. Polaris was not contacted in relation to the problems with the Dragon Fire RZRs. However, since then Polaris has verified that the issues the Dragon Fire RZRs experienced are not common to the RZR line.
