With another 40,000 acres of park trails with easy, moderate, and extreme trails, the HCRR staff will help see that your visit is a memorable one. With a FREE guide service. T JOIN THE CLUB The Kentucky based club that’s setting world records and giving back to the community. FUN. Rule # 2 Don't ever forget Rule # 1! Preston McLain President Harlan Co. Ridge Runners ATV Club, INC. These roads at one time made money for our county and now can do the same as a tourism park. The new Off-Road Park is open to ATVs, dirt bikes, trucks/Jeeps, and will see future expansion for horseback, and hiking. Our biggest asset is our people here in the mountains. They are very friendly and, as an ATV Club, we welcome our out of town guests to enjoy our part of the ATV world. Our town is also very ATV friendly. If you obey all traffic laws you will have no problem accessing gas, food and lodging. Some of our visiting riders have ridden all over the United States and have posted here that our trails and scenery are second to none. The best way to see our new area is to email or call for a FREE Staff tour. RULE # 1 YOU GOTTA HAVE www.sidexsideaction.com From The Editor: I had a chance this month to catch up with the Harlan County Ridge Runners in Evarts Kentucky for their first annual Side X Side Round up. This was one of my first introductions to an East Coast based ATV club and I’m hooked! Everyone that I came in contact with that was affiliated with the HCRRs was knowledgable, helpful, and above all, showed a true passion for offroading. The HCRRs currently hold the world record for longest ATV parade with 1,138 ATVS. This year they set the world record for longest Side X Side parade at 73 UTVS and plan on breaking it again next year. While the Ridge Runners are an ATV-based club, Side X Sides have become an important part of their club and have aided the efforts during clean-ups and trail work. Many club members now own Side X Sides and were more than happy to show them off at this year’s Side X Side RoundUp. You can read more about the round-up on page 50 of this issue. You can also see one of the club member’s Rhinos featured this month on page 54 & 55.
