Customers send their stock ECU into MPI and it is returned within days with a new program and a nice billet engraved end cap. MPI engineers program the ECU to raise the rev-limiter from 6100 rpm (6500 rpm RZR) to 7000 rpm, remove the speed limiter, optimize the timing curve, and optimize the fuel curve. The MPI programming will work well with superchargers, turbos, and big bore engines but custom programming is also available for highly modified engines. We tested the MPI box on a RZR and found that it helped the machine accelerate quicker and reach a better top speed. Raising the rev limiter is also a nice feature but the engine probably would need to be re-clutched to see a noticeable gain from the higher RPMs. The completely stock RZR we tested would top out at about 70 MPH using the MPI box. Minus: Dirt Racing Products Aftermarket Rhino Spindles $1,100.00 The Low Down: Nick Wade, President of Dirt Racing Products, LLC, announced today that its initial product offering, an aftermarket front spindle for Rhinos, is ready for sale. The spindle comes nickel-plated with tapered roller bearings, seals and new caliper bolts ‐ everything you need to bolt on, less the lower ball joint. The spindle works with stock arms and aftermarket arms using gorilla axles. This spindle is made out of 4130 Chromolly and CRS Steel with an aluminum steering arm to create a bendable component that will protect other components from being damaged or broken. We installed the Dirt Racing Spindles onto our website editor’s 2006 Yamaha Rhino. The spindles installed fairly easy and required intermediate tools. These spindles not only look 400% better than stock, but they held up flawlessly after a couple laps out on the track. Have to use your stock lower ball joint. Be sure to have the right tools for the job. Minus: http://www.mountainperformance.com http://www.sidexsideaction.com
