WPSA Powersports Tour Round #10 Field Of Dreams Boswell, PA Dana Creech blows through the monsterous whoops at full speed. The WPSA Powersports Tour has provided spectators with some of the best off-road racing in history in just their second year running. Originally scheduled to head south, the tour was forced to relocate the grand finale race, a race that would determine many season championships. The Field of Dreams, located in Boswell, Pennsylvania, was quickly named the new venue. Although local riders were skeptical of the quality of the track, they were pleasantly surprised when they arrived to the new layout of the track. A slight incline start funneled racers into a tight corner and around the technical course. Peaked jumps left the Pro Supersport (SXS) drivers adjusting their set-ups. With just one short practice and one final race, they had their work cut out for them. With just one race left on the line, a championship was still to be determined. Arctic Cat driver Kyle Fiebelkorn sits only a few points in front of Yamaha driver Michael Kneebusch, an impressive feat for Kneebusch after missing round #6. As Kneebusch looked down the starting line, he knew that he would have to come home with a solid finish and Fiebelkorn would have to finish near the rear of the pack to enable him to come home with a championship. Continuing down the line sat Dana Creech in his new Polaris ride. Although a stock machine with minimal mods, the drivers knew that any machine had the potential to take home a win with Creech behind the wheel. STORY & PHOTOS SHANE HARTMAN When the gate dropped, it was Creech blasting out to an early lead. The battle ensued behind him as Kneebusch positioned himself into second place. Creech continued to attack the course and stretch his lead over Kneebusch. Early mechanical problems dropped Lonestar Racing Driver Jay Corey out of the race. HMF Owner Kan Luenger would also experience problems forcing him to pull off the course. With only three drivers left on the course, Kneebusch’s chance at a championship was nearly impossible. A true racer, he pushed on and started closing the gap Creech had developed. When the checkered flag flew, Creech cruised across with a healthy lead. Kneebusch would bring home second place for the race and finish second place in the season championship, just three points behind. Kyle Fiebelkorn held onto a third place finish and took the season championship home with him to Willmar, MN. When Dana whipped into the winner’s circle, he pulled his helmet off with a big smile on his face. After thanking his sponsors, he rang the ears of many with just a few ominous words, “Wait till we put the long-travel suspension on.” With the wrap-up of the WPSA tour, the racing comes to a close on the east coast.
