getting information out," he adds.
The company this year will begin
sending a digital newsletter to customers to keep them abreast of product offerings, and is also increasing its use of
social media to gather feedback. ROI is
also planning to use the Constant Contact e-mail marketing system to send information to its customers. In addition,
the company is planning to implement
a customer relationship management
(CRM) system in 2016.

ROI Marketing celebrated its 45th
anniversary in 2015. The company was
incorporated in 1970 as the James F.
Prushakin Co. in Philadelphia, offering
water heaters, boilers and baseboards.
Slavinski renamed the company in 1998
after the French word meaning "king,"

in honor of his mother, who was French.
Kidwell relocated the company's headquarters to Maryland in 2010.
"My father trained me to be the rep I am
today, and John [Slavinski] trained me to
take over the business and developed my
business acumen," Kidwell notes. q

GROWTH GOALS
The training and technology improvements will closely follow the company's
2015 acquisition of manufacturer's representative Quality Equipment Sales
in Pottstown, Pa. The purchase added a regional office and training room
to supplement an existing location in
Jamison, Pa.
The Quality Equipment Sales acquisition added several new heating lines as
well as Grundfos hydronic pump product line to ROI's holdings, solidifying its
presence in heating and hydronics. Additional new products added subsequent
to the Quality Equipment Sales acquisition include the Webstone fitting line
and Waterstone decorative faucet lines.
The additions reflect a pattern of
growth since Kidwell took the helm of
the company in 2008, during the midst
of the Great Recession. "We've grown
our revenue every year since, and none
of our employees have gone backwards
from a salary standpoint," he says.
Kidwell joined the company in 1998
as an outside salesman serving the
Washington, D.C., market. Before joining the company, he served in the U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers for 11 years.
He credits his father Bill, a retired ROI
outside sales manager, and his predecessor in the role, John Slavinski, with
his development within the company.
Slavinski had served as president of ROI
since 1998.
