THE ISA CONVENTION GIVES DISTRIBUTORS, SUPPLIERS
AND OTHERS A CHANCE TO NETWORK AND GAIN
KNOWLEDGE THEY CAN USE TO INCREASE THEIR SALES

The Industrial Supply Association (ISA) was formed
in 2004 to provide its members with the tools they
need to increase sales, decrease expenses and increase their profitability.
"The biggest way we do this
for our members is through
our annual convention,"

Hughes says. "The convention puts them in front of
as many clients and potential business partners as
possible, many of whom are
high-level decision makers. It's just a phenomenal,
one-of-a-kind opportunity
for people in our industry."

The ISA's 2016 convention, planned April
16 to 18 in Rosemont, Ill., just outside of
Chicago, will give many of the organization's 900 members plenty of opportunities to gain the knowledge they need
to remain competitive in a changing and
dynamic marketplace.
"The industry is clearly in a state of
flux, and there are a lot of external factors
affecting how our members do business,
whether it's the economy or technology,"
Hughes says. "It's important for them
to stay current, so they can make good
strategic business decisions. As such, the
convention is designed to give our members as much exposure to new ideas as
possible, so they can compete favorably
in the marketplace."
New attendees to the convention often
use it as a way to build relationships, find
distributors for products or find products to distribute. Over time, as those
relationships solidify, companies instead
visit the convention to reinforce those relationships. "Companies come back year
after year and still get value out of the
convention," he adds.

DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES
More than 600 companies will be represented during the convention. Attendees
will include distributors, manufacturers,
suppliers, industrial manufacturer representatives (IMRs) and service providers
in the maintenance, repair, operations
and production (MROP) industry. In
addition, the convention will feature an
area dedicated to technology, shipping or
other service providers who serve the industries represented by the ISA.
The event is focused on networking
among members and providing them
with professional development opportunities. "Our convention is not a traditional trade show in the sense that there
are not a lot of product demonstrations
going on," Hughes says. "We see it much
more as a place where business executives can meet, discuss business oppor-
