PROView - February 2009 - (Page 3) Action: Consider contacting your local community newspaper and ask if they’d consider accepting a regular column. Reach out to home owner’s associations in the geographic area you serve and ask if you could present a market update regularly at their meetings. Cultivate mutually beneficial relationships with other professionals such as CPAs and attorneys likely to serve a network similar to your target group. 4. Become Consumer-Centric Idea: There’s little doubt consumer preferences have changed. Most buyers and sellers are now choosing to be more engaged in the process compared to only a few years ago – and they expect you to deliver the necessary tools and information they can use to do so. Action: Reach out to all contacts in your database and ask them about their preferences. Ask them what kind of information would be most beneficial to them, and how often they’d like to receive it. Do they prefer hearing from you by email or phone? Would they instead like to be kept informed by text message? Would they rather receive information through a blog? The feedback you’ll receive will help you build a consumer-centric approach to customer service. 5. Make the Most of Your PRO Membership Idea: As a member of PRO you have access to a wide range of benefits and I encourage you to explore how they can help you grow your business, make money and even save money. Action: Take advantage of the Education Marketplace and other classes and seminars. Use free tools available to you such as Listingbook. Use the comprehensive statistics package available to you for free. Educate yourself about the resources available to you here. 6. Take Time for Yourself Idea: In times like these it’s easy to be burned out. With many commitments, not the least to build our own businesses, it may sometimes be difficult to find the time to just breathe. Truth is; we all need downtime. Action: PINELLAS REALTOR® ORGANIZATION As you plan your schedule, make sure to set time apart for yourself. Spend time with family. Go to the beach. Play golf. Ride your bike. No matter what activity you may choose, just allow yourself to focus on yourself. In return you will have more energy for work when you need it the most. 2009 will be a challenging year but those committed to success will find an abundance of opportunities.
