PROView - March 2008 - (Page 4) Going Back to Basics: Are You Generating Leads? by Mathias Bergendahl, Director of Marketing & Communications Y ou head to the office early – determined to get caught up with the list of prospective clients you have been meaning to call. Your schedule is cleared for the next three hours. Your phone script is in front of you, call list printed, and your phone starts ringing. A buyer wants to visit a home she found online the night before. A seller calls you back to discuss a price reduction. Every time you glance at your computer 20 more emails have arrived, all urging your immediate attention. A mortgage broker faxes over a pre-qualification letter for a buyer. You’re running a bit late for your appointment with a home inspector, and all of a sudden it’s time to pick up your children at school. Sound like a familiar day in the office? You’re not alone and most other Realtors® often find that never-ending commitments and constant interruptions prevent them from spending the time necessary to prospect for new customers. I wanted to know what successful Realtors® are doing to find new business, and the time and resources to make it happen. I contacted several local top producers and in words used by those I spoke with: it’s time to go back to basics to successfully generate leads. 4 PINELLAS REALTOR® ORGANIZATION March 2008
