“Stay Unique” is the motto of the new 163room NYLO Providence/Warwick (RI) Hotel at the corner of Knight Street and Greenwich Avenue, three miles from TF Green International Airport and across the street from the Warwick Mall. And it is, indeed, unique. An ultra-modern loft-lifestyle hotel, it offers vacationers and business travelers alike a truly different experience. Stepping into the lobby, guests find high ceilings, exposed brick walls, polished concrete floors, and huge floor-to-ceiling windows. The oval front desk is close to the door. Beyond the entryway, pod chairs hang from the ceilings. In the Loft, NYLO’s restaurant/bar, chandeliers in the shape of dry sea coral cast a warm glow. A shiny metallic bar invites guests to relax. Nearby tables have driftwood bases and Plexiglas tops embedded with sea sponges and shells. They sit atop floors stained light blue, a tip of the hat to the Ocean State. Just beyond the bar is the game room, with custom billiards table and more sky-blue and white hanging pod chairs. There are plush blue and white banquettes recalling sand and surf, anemone-inspired wall sconces for lighting, and shiny metallic ottomans adorned with boat ties. Locale-wise, the NYLO is minutes from downtown Providence and area businesses, universities, golf courses, and marinas. It’s also close to some of New England’s top beaches, along Warwick’s 39 miles of coastline, including some spectacular views of Narragansett Bay. A Unique New England Vacation Lots Of Detail The 82,800 square-foot NYLO Providence was the creation of Stephane Dupoux, a designer of high-end restaurants, bars, and clubs. Recognized by Hospitality Design magazine as one of America’s top designers, Dupoux’s works include Manhattan’s Buddha Bar and Cielo, Miami’s Pearl and Nikki Beach, and London’s Cocoon. The Loft’s large windows provide wonderful views of the Pawtuxet River and its banks. Giant glass doors open onto a 3,000 square-foot terrace, with the river just beyond. Equipped for live entertainment, the terrace offers al fresco dining, as well as space for parties, receptions, and corporate events. Art lovers will appreciate the original artwork throughout NYLO Providence. Largely by local artists, they combine with the brick and concrete walls and floors and high ceilings to give each guestroom the look and feel of an urban loft.
