Room Location B-2 Michelangelo Occupy Leadership: Redefining Networking for the Next Generation of Leaders The current educational outcomes for Latino students require a new framework for leadership that focuses on the importance of collaborative networks of individuals who understand deeply the complex challenges facing communities of color and the systematic change required for pervasive disruption of current trends. This framework centers on developing adaptive leaders proficient in the core areas of social transformation, visionary and innovative capacity, and educational entrepreneurship. Drawing upon the collective experiences of the Superintendents Leadership Academy Cohort One, evidence of the new paradigm of networking and its collective impact on educational opportunity at the district, state, and national level will be shared. Presented by: ALAS Superintendents Leadership Academy Cohort One B-3 Escorial ELL Program Improvement: Enhancing Support for Classroom Teachers, ELL Students and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Families This session focuses on Bellingham Public Schools’ district-wide ELL program review process that served as a catalyst for significant program improvement and reform. Presenters will share specific, replicable strategies that others can apply to their own ELL program improvement initiatives.
