NewProducts AS SEEN AT NECC THE 2008 NATIONAL EDUCATION COMPUTING CONFERENCE (NECC), THE largest educational technology conference in the country, was held June 29-July 2 in San Antonio. Presented by ISTE, the conference is intended to help educators take part in leadership training, examine emerging technologies and new media, and learn ways to integrate these new tools in their schools through workshops, hands-on sessions, and keynote addresses. Program themes included school improvement, technology infrastructure, virtual schooling, and 21st-century teaching and learning. A variety of new products was also unveiled, particularly new assessment software and online curriculum programs. Highly conﬁgurable and ﬂexible, EXCEED allows districts to utilize their unique processes, forms and intervention strategies, providing complete intervention management. As an automated system, this software minimizes the paperwork normally used in the intervention process. Real-time reporting enables teachers to immediately differentiate instruction and administrators to aggregate reports for schools and districts. Each program uses skill sets to determine student knowledge. Teachers can store and organize lesson plans online, and easily share best practices, textbooks, digital worksheets and other resources with other educators throughout a district.
