The one-time train stop in the center of town has been reborn as the Depot Bookstore and Café, a stronghold for independent bookstore culture. The 7.1-mile course from Mill Valley to Stinson is one of the most beautiful courses in the world. Theater, film festivals and music Plays can be enjoyed a block from the depot at 142 Throckmorton Theater, which provides a showplace for national and local talent. Another cultural venue is Cinearts at Sequoia Theater, the spot to catch the new Woody Allen effort. Around the corner at 9 E. Blithedale Ave. is a justly famous record store. “Some of my best discoveries have been made in what may be the greatest recordcollector store in the world: Village Music in Mill Valley,” wrote Elvis Costello.
