Pet Owner's World 2008 - (Page 16) Humor Miscellaneous I didn’t ha If If I didn’t have dogs I could walk around safely barefoot in the dark. My house could be carpeted instead of tiled and laminated. All flat surfaces, clothing, furniture and cars would be free of dog hair. When the doorbell rang, it wouldn’t sound like the SPCA kennels. If I didn’t have dogs when the doorbell rang, I could get to the door without wading through four or five dog bodies who beat me there. I could sit how I wanted to on the couch without taking into consideration how much space several little furry bodies would need to get comfortable. If I didn’t have dogs I would not be on a first-name basis with six veterinarians, as I put their unborn grandchildren through college. I would have money—and no guilt about going on a real vacation. If I didn’t have dogs the most-used words in my vocabulary would not be potty, outside, sit, down, come, no, and leave him/her alone! My house would not be cordoned off into zones with baby gates. My house would not look like a daycare center, with toys thrown everywhere. My pockets would not contain things like poop pick up bags and doggie treats. In the fall, I would not have as many leaves inside my house as outside. I would look forward to Spring Rains instead of Mud Tracking Season. ve dogs Editor’s Note: There are lots of these lists floating around on the Internet and many of them are guaranteed to put a smile on your face. The following is a compilation of several different e-Lists If I didn’t have dogs,,, I would no longer have to spell the words B-A-L-L, F-R-I-S-B-E-E, W-A-L-K, T-R-E-A-T or G-O for a R-ID-E. I would not buy weird things to stuff into Kongs or have to explain why I’m buying them or what a Kong is. I would not look strangely at people who think having their one dog ties them down too much. If I didn’t have dogs I would not have to answer the question, “Why do you have so many animals?” from people who will never have the joy in their life of knowing they are loved unconditionally by something as close to an angel as they will ever get. Who else has a friend who considers you the most important thing in the whole wide world all the time? If I didn’t have dogs how empty my life would be. —Author Unknown 1 2008 • Pet Owner’s WORLD
