RFID SOLUTIONS RFID Radio Frequency Identification RFID Overview: RFID is an Auto Identification system comprised of RFID tags and RFID readers, typically integrated to a customer’s business application.The RFID tag is capable of storing a large quantity of specific information that is accessed when “interrogated” by the radio signal of the RFID reader.The reader signal can also write data to specifically designed “read/write” tags. The VALUE of RFID comes in many ways! Tags can be packaged in rugged housings to stand up to any environment – often impervious to conditions that would damage a barcode. Data on the tags can still be retrieved even if the tag is hidden from sight. There is also increased data storage capacity on tags. When compared to traditional bar code formats, RFID tags enable much more robust data storage for itemspecific information. Finally, the ability to “read/write” to some tags provides flexibility in a variety of applications that require continuous data modification.
