Site survey and installation Deploying a wireless computing and data collection network is more than installing a few access points and configuring some computer terminals. Both the physical environment and the business operations of every enterprise are unique and must be approached commensurately. Site Survey In order to fully address the requirements of each organization, Psion Teklogix conducts a site survey of the environment in which the installation is to be implemented. Installation There are two stages to the implementation process: • First, Psion Teklogix installs the backbone – radio access points and controllers. • Secondly, we bring in and configure the terminals and peripherals – printers, scanners, etc. In addition to installing access points, Psion Teklogix offers wiring/cabling services. Once access points have been installed, we configure and test them to ensure they meet your requirements. We proceed similarly with the computer terminals, configuring and testing them and, optionally, providing mounting (wiring) services at customer request. Psion Teklogix provides customers with end-to-end solutions When the installation is complete, Psion Teklogix technical consultants will record the configuration and store them in INFO SITE, our Global Configuration Database. This data will then be used to: • Return repaired equipment to the customer with the original configuration in place • Deliver add-on devices with compatible configurations 47
