Chemical Processing - January 2008 - (Page 9) << Search our digital piles We’ve put everything in neat and easily accessible groups to ease your visit MY DESK HAS A LOT OF PILES. IT HAS PILES OF press releases and piles of notes. It has piles of printed enewsletters I want to read and piles of completed items. It has piles of personal items and piles of professional ones. And to someone just passing by, it probably looks like an unmanageable morass of paper. The thing is, though, that everything is there. If you know which pile is for what, there’s actually quite a bit of useful information. ChemicalProcessing.com is no different. It has a lot of information across a broad number of subjects — from automation to wireless. One of our challenges is to nd a way to effectively display all the quality information we produce and gather. How do we show all the piles without looking like a cluttered desk? Please allow me to point you in the right direction of a few quality piles. 1. Process Puzzler — This monthly feature has a dedi5. Issue archive. Perhaps the most used aggregation of material on our site is the issue archive. The archive contains every article from every issue published in Chemical Processing magazine since January 2002. You can access it at www.ChemicalProcessing.com/ issues. 6. Resource centers. The system we use to maintain the content on our site allows us to organize groups of content by subject type. Thus, you can nd every article, white paper, new product, etc., we’ve ever published in a particular subject area in our resource centers. The resource centers that we currently have and their Web addresses are: a. Automation & Information Technology (www. ChemicalProcessing.com/resource_centers/automation) b. Design & Simulation (www.ChemicalProcess ing.com/resource_centers/design_simulation.html) c. Environmental, Health & Safety (www.Chemi calProcessing.com/resource_centers/environmental.html) d. Fluid Handling (www.ChemicalProcessing. com/resource_centers/ uid_handling.html) e. Powder & Solids (www.ChemicalProcessing. com/resource_centers/powder_solids.html) f. Reaction & Synthesis (www.ChemicalProcess ing.com/resource_centers/reaction_synthesis.html) g. Reliability & Maintenance (www.Chemical Processing.com/resource_centers/reliability_maintenance. html) h. Security (www.ChemicalProcessing.com/ resource_centers/security.html) i. Separations Technology (www.ChemicalPro cessing.com/resource_centers/separations_technology.html) j. Utilities & Energy (www.ChemicalProcessing. com/resource_centers/utilities_energy.html) k. Wireless (www.ChemicalProcessing.com/re source_centers/wireless.html) As our site evolves, we’ll continue to expand the number and variety of piles. This will include ones for videos, podcasts and other multimedia formats. If there’s something in particular that you’re interested in nding and you can’t seem to nd it, don’t forget to use our site search. Or if that doesn’t work, please don’t hesitate to contact me. It shows the latest puzzler on the landing page and then has a listing of all the puzzlers ever published to our Web site in chronological order. 2. Case Studies: Making it Work. You can peruse case studies that cross over many aspects of chemical manufacturing in this archive. It’s located at www.Chem cialProcessing.com/voices/making_it_work.html. 3. Poll archive. ChemicalProcessing.com runs a monthly poll. The topics for which we seek your input include some controversial ones but also useful and even fun ones, such as whether you still use a slide rule. You’ll nd it linked at the bottom of the home page — www. ChemicalProcessing.com — under the current poll. 4. Popular articles and downloads. The home page contains tabs that will take you to a listing of the most popular articles and most popular downloads. In the upper right portion of the page, you can look at what your peers are reading the most often and what they’re downloading the most often. www.chemicalprocessing.com http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/issues http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/issues http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/resource_centers/automation http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/resource_centers/automation http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/resource_centers/design_simulation.html http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/resource_centers/design_simulation.html http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/resource_centers/environmental.html http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/resource_centers/environmental.html http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/resource_centers/fluid_handling.html http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/resource_centers/fluid_handling.html http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/resource_centers/powder_solids.html http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/resource_centers/powder_solids.html http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/resource_centers/reaction_synthesis.html http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/resource_centers/reaction_synthesis.html http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/resource_centers/reliability_maintenance.html http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/voices/process_puzzler.html http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/resource_centers/reliability_maintenance.html http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/voices/process_puzzler.html http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/resource_centers/reliability_maintenance.html http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/resource_centers/security.html http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/resource_centers/security.html http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/resource_centers/separations_technology.html http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/resource_centers/separations_technology.html http://www.ChemicialProcessing.com/voices/making_it_work.html http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/resource_centers/utilities_energy.html http://www.ChemicialProcessing.com/voices/making_it_work.html http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/resource_centers/utilities_energy.html http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/resource_centers/wireless.html http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com/resource_centers/wireless.html http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com http://www.ChemicalProcessing.com http://www.chemicalprocessing.com
