Chemical Processing - March 2008 - (Page 9) << Participate in our 2008 Salary Survey By spending a few moments online taking part you can provide valuable input WHAT IS IT ABOUT SALARY THAT MAKES US tiptoe around the subject? It’s very rare when you’ll run into people who’ll openly share their salary information with you, and even when they do, you assume they’re lying. Instead, we speak in cryptic codes and ranges, and even the best salary Web sites can’t commit to a solid number. It’s an unspoken agreement we’ve all come to — I won’t tell you how much I make and you don’t ask. Except, at Chemical Processing, we’re asking, but we’ll keep your identity con dential in the process. Each year, we conduct an electronic survey, where we try to get an idea of the type of salary chemical industry professionals are earning. We also try to learn much more than that. We’re looking to paint an informative pro le, so we ask questions in each of the following subcategories: to win an 80GB iPod Classic. One survey participant will be randomly selected to receive the iPod as a token of our appreciation for participating in the survey. While you’re waiting for the nal results to come out, take a look at our past surveys. They’ll show you the depth of the information we provide with this survey, and put the upcoming results in context. You can find previous surveys here: • 2005 Chemical Processing Salary Survey: Field of Greens Changing market conditions have prompted us to take a closer look at the chemical processing industry as it continues to evolve.
