Fonseca in the Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, feels your pain. To demonstrate the practicality of DSS-enhanced maintenance, Fonseca developed a fuzzy expert system that supports reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) programs during the design of industrial chemical processes.
