Alpin Royal 2007 - (Page 27) Ski Area Kronplatz (20 km) The Pustertal in the Dolomites the Kronplatz with its 35 state of the art ski lifts, 105 kilometers of runs and a fun park for snow boarders and free-skiers that is always in top shape. From the Kronplatz summit at 2,275 m elevation the star shape tracks of the lifts and runs cover the mountain (from top to bottom). 200 snow canons and 35 snow cats guarantee for 100% snow coverage for all runs until Easter! The Kronplatz offers a multitude of ski-runs with various levels of difficulty for the winter sports fan: Red runs for experienced skiers alternate with broad carving runs. State of the art lift systems and a key card system facilitating touch less passage of the lift turnstiles offer highest comfort to all winter sports fans at the Kronplatz. Cross Country Not only the fans of fast paced downhill skiing, but also ski tour fans, cross country and Nordic snow shoe hikers will find the Ahrntal to their liking. Cross country skiers can look forward to 80 km well prepared high-altitude cross country courses at the ideal elevation (900 to 1,600 m) for beginners and intermediate skiers. Classes and cross country safaris for beginners and intermediate skiers are offered on a regular basis during Winter, these include both disciplines „Classic“ and „Skating“. Winter Hikes The breathtakingly beautiful winter landscape surrounded by calming tranquility and the crystal clear mountain air guarantee pure relaxation to all winter hikers. Over 30 sign posted winter hikes await the hiking enthusiasts who love to pack their knapsack for extensive winter hikes. The Ahrntal’s various cultural structures and museums - the Taufers castle, numerous churches and museums - are even in wintertime easily accessible by foot. 27
