Bill Munro, g.m., and Lisa Johnson, controller for the hotel, were charged with aiding and abetting the Muscular Dystrophy Assn. They were locked up for an hour, during which time they called friends, family and associates to raise money to fight muscular dystrophy. All contributions benefited the association’s efforts to promote research and treatment of neuromuscular disease. The hotel was imploded by Controlled Demolition and Omega Contracting to make way for St. Regis Resort & Residences, Bal Harbour. More than 100 guests watched the implosion from aboard a 111-foot yacht anchored off the coast. The bedding, which was professionally cleaned and folded prior to donation, was accompanied by children’s books written in English and Spanish. INTERVAL INTERNATIONAL Interval knocks out holiday hunger More than 50 baskets filled with complete holiday meals were donated by employees of Interval International for the company’s 11th annual Thanksgiving Basket Food Drive and Decorating Contest to benefit residents of South Miami, Fla. The Interval Resort Financial Services department won first place for its 1960 Summer Olympics Boxing entry.
