The modernized design includes an upgraded reception area with six individual check-in stations and an expansion of the lobby bar. Interiors were redesigned to create a contemporary feel including pristine white stone floors, natural wallcoverings and textured ceiling treatments. Other features include Anigre wall paneling, streamlined furniture in warm, muted tones and varying textures. Stonetopped coffee tables, sofas and arm chairs in shades of beige and seafoam green and custom rugs grace the lobby. The resort’s 20,000 squarefoot meeting and banquet facility received a refreshed look keeping with the resort’s modern design. During the first phase of the resort’s renovation, guestrooms and suites were completely upgraded. The Coronado Island Marriott Resort in San Diego completed a renovation. More than 15,000 square feet of new construction was required for the threephased project at a cost of $2 million. The 6,300-square-foot lobby was transformed by removing many of its walls to create more open space and redirecting the traffic flow by resituating the retail store and meeting rooms. The lounge and The Café, the hotel’s 3,700square-foot restaurant, also were renovated. International Plaza Resort & Spa in Orlando completed the first phase of its multimilliondollar transformation, unveiling 120 remodeled guestrooms and suites. The remaining accommodations are slated for completion later this year. The new rooms showcase a blend of contemporary amenities and natural design features inspired by the tropical island of Bali. Three distinct floor plans exude a peaceful ambiance, with native dark woods and bamboo furnishings, as well as soothing color palates, natural water features and Indonesian stone ceramics. Guestrooms feature granite countertops, luxury bed linens and oversized mahogany workstations with ergonomic desk chairs. Bathrooms include mosaic glass tiling, brushed stainless steel accents and sliding bamboo panels for privacy. Select ground floor suites also feature hardwood floors. Amenities include 32-inch flat-screen televisions, wireless Internet access and iPod receptive radio. Parc 55 Hotel San Francisco has begun a $30-million renovation that will include all 1,010 rooms, 18 suites, lobby, Club Level facilities, and meeting and event space, which will increase to almost 30,000 square feet. After a $4.5-million renovation and conversion from an AmeriSuites hotel, the Hotel Indigo Vernon Hills is scheduled to open in early spring.
