Growth opportunities As part of its growth strategy, the brand is pursuing high-profile projects to gain a foothold in major metropolitan markets, high- Wingate® by Wyndham, Henderson, Nev. barrier locations and premium secondary markets. “When you look at our numbers, Wingate by Wyndham is out-pricing the competitive set in ADR and RevPAR*,” Hall says. “As developers look for limitedservice opportunities, we want to be in that consideration set.” The opportunity to develop in a market that already had equally competitive brands was one of the considerations for Bert Pooser, founder of IMIC Hotels of Columbia, S.C., who recently opened his second Wingate by Wyndham hotel and has two more under development. “Wingate offers many opportunities to potential developers because there are markets available for Wingate franchisees that are already serviced by their competitors,” Pooser says. “I am pleased with the RevPAR and reservation contributions; and we are beginning to see an increase in those numbers since becoming affiliated with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.” Prototypes allow flexibility Wingate Inns International Inc. plays an active role in helping its franchisees get off on the right foot and is a resource throughout the development process. A key differentiator is the value developers receive from the prototype, which includes LEED guidance; and provides an integrated set of drawings, reusable sheets, project specifications, “designer notes” for sitespecific architects and a list of approved architectural firms who are knowledgeable about the prototype. “This is not simply a hand off of design documents for franchisee use.
