Giving guests a CD packaged with their room key at check-in is a way to welcome and thank the guest, and it’s also a marketing tool for hotels, according to Brad Pressman, president, Water Music Records. The CD package can list the hotel’s amenities, adding a functional aspect. More than 60 hotels or hotel brands have private-label CDs and the trend is growing, Pressman said. “There’s enormous awareness about a hotel having its own CD,” he said. “It gives it a sort of hipness and a little more panache.” WATER M U SIC REC OR DS TOP FIVE Questions to ask about music programs How is the music delivered to the hotel—satellite, Internet, CDs, etc.?
