www.HotelMotel.com/digital_edition HotelMotel.com | H&MM June 2, 2008 Transactions 51 OPENINGS Accor North America recently opened four Motel 6 properties, including a property in Lancaster Texas, owned and operated by Ila Patel; a Sturbridge, Mass., property, owned and operated by Om Shri Uma Bhavani LLC; a Motel 6 in Urbana, Ill., owned and operated by Vijay Patel; and a Grand Prairie, Texas, property, owned and operated by Raman Patel. A dual-branded hotel opened in downtown Chicago. The Residence Inn and SpringHill Suites Downtown River North is the ﬁrst combination hotel of its kind, and it boasts a 270-room Residence Inn and a 253-room SpringHill Suites. White Lodging and Friedman Properties developed the combination hotel. The Four Points by Sheraton Houston, Memorial City, opened as the second Four Points in Houston. MetroNational Corp. owns the 171-room hotel, which is the ﬁrst of three Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide properties to open as part of a mixed-use project. The 100-room Courtyard by Marriott in Carson City, Nev., is open. Carson Gaming Hotels LLC owns the hotel, and InterMountain Management LLC manages the property. The hotel is the ﬁrst Marriott hotel in the Carson City area. Two hotels managed by White Lodging opened in April in Louisville, Ky. A 135-room Fairﬁeld Inn & Suites and a 198-suite SpringHill Suites are connected. Louisville Jefferson Partners LLC owns the properties. Compiled by Jason Q. Freed, jfreed@questex.com Wichita, Kan. Rockbridge Capital recently closed a ﬁrst mortgage investment for the development of a SpringHill Suites in Wichita, Kan. The property will be developed, owned and operated by A.G. Holdings, which has won numerous awards from Marriott International for its development. SpringHill Suites Wichita will be an all-suite hotel incorporating all of Marriott’s latest amenity options.
