This has been the group’s strategy in particular over the last 10 months since it sold Red Roof Inn last September for $1.3 billion to a consortium comprised of Citi’s Global Special Situations Group and Westbridge Hospitality Fund LP. At the most recent meeting in early June, held in conjunction with the New York University International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference, two topics stole the stage and dominated the conversation: industry demand and the lack of liquidity in the market.
