WE WERE GREEN BEFORE GREEN WAS COOL Under Construction American Hotel Development Partners LLC broke ground on a Holiday Inn Express Inn & Suites project located in Savannah, Ga. The 88-room hotel is slated to open in early fall 2008. Harris Hotel Group will manage the hotel. Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide announced plans to open an aloft hotel in Bolingbrook, Ill. Owned by LTD Management, aloft Bolingbrook is scheduled to open in July 2009. The new-build hotel will offer 155 rooms. Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has partnered with Cabi Aventura Hotel LLLP and Aventura Development to develop aloft Aventura (Fla.), which is expected to open later this year. The hotel will feature 215 rooms and 5,000 square feet of meeting space. InterContinental Hotels Group announced that Hotel Indigo is coming to downtown Cleveland. Construction is expected to begin this fall, with an anticipated opening in spring 2010. The Hotel Indigo is owned by The K&D Group. Thayer Lodging Group broke ground on a project that will introduce Florida’s ﬁrst Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-certiﬁed conference center that will be approved by The International Association of Conference Centers. The conference center is part of 279-room The Palm Beach Gardens Doubletree Hotel, which was bought and renovated by Thayer Lodging Group in 2006. The project is scheduled for a grand opening on Jan. 1, 2009. Wave Development LLC is building CoCo Key, a 55,000square-foot, indoor water resort at the Mt. Laurel (N.J.) Marriott. Sage Hospitality Resources manages the hotel.
