The resource centers will be located in Boston, Los Angeles and San Francisco, where the company has existing showrooms, as well as in Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix, Denver and Las Vegas. Each center will have a swatch wall where the company’s porcelain tiles will be sampled along with full mosaic accompaniments. LodgeNet Interactive Corp., a provider of media and connectivity, signed an agreement to deploy Motorola’s mT2a PowerBroadband system in hotels, resorts and health-care facilities. The mT2a product line was selected to provide LodgeNet with a high-performance platform for Internet protocol-based applications while providing flexibility to expand new broadband services. Thomas Duke joined iBAHN, a provider of digital entertainment and Internet solutions for the hospitality and meeting industries, as chief technology officer. Valley Forge Fabrics was honored by Sustainable Florida with a Best Practice award in the Large Company Category. The company offers FRESH—Fabrics Redefining Environmental Standards (for) Hospitality, a line of fabrics made from recycled PET plastic bottles. The company has an established reclamation process to facilitate the recycling of textiles. Valley Forge also operates in a sustainable manner by greening its fleet and implementing an internal recycling program. Cintas Corp. announced its plan to launch service in international markets. This multiphase expansion will be led by Cintas’ new Global Accounts and Strategic Markets Division. The growth is designed to better meet the increasing demand of its customers to create a consistent global brand image. Choice Hotels International made an agreement with Precor, naming the fitness manufacturer as the exclusive provider of fitness center equipment for the Cambria Suites brand. The new agreement will feature premium Precor cardiovascular and weight equipment as part of the Refresh fitness club found at all Cambria Suites hotels. American of Martinsville introduced a new brand identity. The new look and message more accurately represent AOM’s inline and custom furnishings designed for the global hospitality, senior-living and government markets. Primary elements of the corporate brand include a modernized version of the AOM logo and a new tagline: “We’re there. Start to furnish.” The AOM Web site, sales binder, catalogs and price lists also have been redesigned. The new Holiday Inn Express Hotels & Suites in Halifax, Nova Scotia, installed radio frequency identification locks from Kaba Ilco. The hotel has 119 guestroom locks, a business center lock and common area locks (equipped with panic bars) for the pool and corridor exits. The hotel also uses Ilco’s stand-alone Next Generation FDU (front desk unit) to accelerate the check-in process. Safemark Systems, a provider of in-room safes, announced that Jennifer Ferris will join the international sales team as v.p. of sales for the company’s Asia-Pacific region. The first to hold the newly created position, Ferris is based in Hong Kong and will focus on servicing AsiaPacific clients. Besa Lighting, a designer and manufacturer of decorative glass lighting, will open a new state-of-the-art showroom in the World Market Center in Las Vegas for the Summer 2008 Market from July 28 to Aug. 1.
