If you look at the exchange of information today, if the hotel company launches a brand, and the brand is not positioned well, and doesn’t have a very specific focus in the marketplace, it will not survive. It basically becomes an aggregated asset. That asset will go away.” Following is an excerpt from a roundtable held at the Rosen Plaza Hotel. Hotels need to keep in mind they’re defining it properly and it’s well understood by the consumer. If the consumer doesn’t understand it, it doesn’t matter if you have one great offer or 200 great offerings.” Coleman: “If it’s a rational rate structure, not a simple rate structure, the consumer will buy. To make it rational, it probably ought to be rational. Being a marketer, I would say you can explain it.
