The 138-room hotel will undergo an extensive refurbishment to include the re-imaging of the hotel’s exterior. The hotel will continue to operate as a Motel 6 under a long-term license agreement. Mumford also represented Motel 6 and Accor Hospitality in the sale of the Motel 6 in Fayetteville, Ark. The purchaser, Akor Hospitality LLC, will operate the hotel as a Motel 6 under a long-term license agreement and plans an extensive modernization of the hotel. is operated by Essex Hotel Management. A 92-suite Homewood Suites by Hilton is open in Scarborough, Maine. Maine Course Hospitality Group manages the hotel. The 59-room Fairﬁeld Inn & Suites by Marriott in Hooksett, N.H., is open. Jiten Hotel Management owns and manages the hotel. The Best Western Galt (Calif.) Inn is open. Owned by Sai Investments, the hotel has 44 guestrooms. An 86-suite TownePlace Suites by Marriott opened recently in Butler Township, Ohio. Sun Development and Management Corp. owns and manages the hotel. Harris Hotel Group and American Hotel Development Partners opened the 112-room Candlewood Suites Hotel Columbia (S.C.). Glenmont AHDP LLC, a joint venture between American Hotel Development Partners and Glenmont Capital Management LLC, developed the hotel, the ﬁrst Candlewood Suites property to enter the Columbia/ Fort Jackson market. Harris Hotel Group is managing the hotel. Kinseth Hospitality owns and manages the new 119-room Courtyard by Marriott in Ankeny, Iowa. Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide announced the opening of aloft Charleston (S.C.) Airport & Convention Center. The 136-room hotel was developed and is managed by SREE Hotels LLC. Best Western International announced the opening of the Best Western Pearsall (Texas) Inn and Suites. Owned by Sukarma Ltd., the new hotel has 48 guestrooms. JONES LANG LASALLE HOTELS Los Angeles Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels announced the sale of the fee simple interest in the Sheraton Gateway Hotel at Los Angeles International Airport on behalf of its owners, Kor Hotel Group and its partners. The hotel was purchased by Harp Group and its equity partners Fidelity Investments Real Estate Group and Blue Vista Capital Partners. The hotel has 802 guestrooms and was recently renovated. OPENINGS The 108-suite Residence Inn by Marriott in Gulfport, Miss., is open. The hotel was developed and is owned by a subsidiary of Corporex Cos. The hotel is operated by Commonwealth Hotels. Hersha Hospitality owns and operates the recently opened 93-room Nu Hotel Brooklyn (N.Y.). The boutique property is part of the company’s Independent Collection of hotels. A 118-room Courtyard by Marriott opened in Miami in June. The Courtyard Miami at Dolphin Mall is owned by Apple REIT Cos. and managed by Dimension Development Co.
