The Adolphus hotel in Dallas recently promoted three sales managers. Jesh Batra and Lionel Cooley were named associate directors of sales, while former Catering Sales Manager Loretta Allen was promoted to national accounts manager, overseeing the Midwest market. Denise Bednarczyk, director of group sales for Westin Detroit Metropolitan Airport, was promoted to director of sales and marketing for the 404-room property. It is slated to open fall 2008. Lissette Carlo joined the newly renovated, 300-room Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort & Spa (St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands) as Southeast group sales manager, based in Miami. She previously was regional senior sales manager/associate Joe Derks was named director of sales & marketing for Hawks Cay Resort in Duck Key, Fla. The industry veteran will help reposition the resort following its current $30-million renovation. Grant ROSEN HOTELS Sanders ROSEN HOTELS director of sales for Morgans Hotel Group, Miami. Elaine Gamer joined NYLO Hotels as director of sales and marketing for its inaugural property in Plano, Texas. She most recently served as director of sales for W Dallas– Victory. Rosen Hotels & Resorts, Orlando, appointed Venessa Grant and Jill Sanders as Midwest and Northeast corporate sales representatives, respectively. Grant recently served as Midwest director of sales for Navigant Performance Group in Chicago, while Sanders was a meeting incentive specialist with Maritz/ McGettigan in Philadelphia. Aqua Hotels and Resorts named Robin Harlow to its newly created director of travel industry sales position. She was previously director of sales at Aqua Waikiki Wave. Tulinh Luciano-DeSmith is Aqua’s director of market sales, another new position for the 10-property chain. She was previously senior sales manager for the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. In addition, Evelyn Shiroma is transitioning to become sales manager for Aqua Waikiki Wave from her previous position as sales manager at Ocean Tower Hotel. Chris Kandziora was promoted to director of sales and marketing for the Miramonte Resort & Spa, a Destination Hotels & Resorts property in Indian Wells, Calif. Nicole Lapointe became director of sales & marketing at Québec’s Fairmont Le Château Frontenac. She recently was regional sales manager at Les Hôtels Villegia in Québec. The Magnolia Hotel Dallas appointed Gia Marshello individual business travel sales manager and Jessica Smith as catering manager.
