Home Media Magazine - Agent DVD - July 2008 - (Page DVD23) *COMICFILES A ny similarities are purely accidental, according to the producers of “Heroes.” Co-executive producer Jeph Loeb recalls an early meeting with creator Tim Kring to outline some of the characters. “He said one of the guys would control metal with a magnet power,” Loeb says. “I said ‘Tim, that’s Magneto.’ He looked at me and asked, as only he can, ‘Is that a person’s name or a power?’” “Not only had he never read a comic, he’d never been to a comic book movie,” Loeb says. “So the whole inspiration for him came from the things that influence all of us from mythology.” Universal Studios Home Entertainment Aug. 26 releases the four-disc Heroes: Season 2 on DVD ($39.98) and Blu-ray Disc ($69.98), and Heroes: Season 1 on Blu-ray (five-discs $99.98). – JOHN LATCHEM POWER CLAIRE BENNETT Played by Hayden Panettiere WOLVERINE (LOGAN) HEALING FACTOR Played by Hugh Jackman The healing factor grants centuries of life, but, like The Highlander, decapitation will end it.
