C orey Feldman’s best-known work may have been in the 1980s, playing Mouth in The Goonies or as the bespectacled Teddy in Stand by Me. With his A&E TV show “The Two Coreys” (with Corey Haim) going strong, and his upcoming Lost Boys sequel, Lost Boys: The Tribe, Feldman could be facing a career renaissance. “I’m very lucky to have survived in this industry for almost four decades,” Feldman says. “I’m just pleased that people still remem- ber my films and are enjoying them today.” Lost Boys: The Tribe, directed by P.J. Pesce, concerns a brother and sister (Tad Hilgenbrink and Autumn Reeser) who become entangled with a vampire gang. Feldman and Haim reprise their roles as Edgar Frog and Sam Emerson, respectively, with Jamison Newlander returning as Alan Frog. The film also features Angus Sutherland, younger half-brother of Kiefer (who starred in the first film). “The fun thing about this movie is you’ve got a great cast of young fresh talent … but the NO REST FOR THE WICKED IN ‘REST REST STOP: DON’T LOOK BACK Available Oct. 7 on DVD ($24.98) and Blu-ray ($28.99) Warner Home Video STOP’ OTHER UPCOMING DIRECT-TO-DVD SEQUELS: THE SCORPION KING 2: RISE OF A WARRIOR Available Aug. 19 on DVD ($29.98) and Blu-ray ($39.98) Universal Studios Home Entertainment This action-packed prequel to 2002’s The Scorpion King chronicles how young Mathayus (Michael Copon) first forged his legend, seeking revenge against the king (UFC’s Randy Couture) who killed his father. BY KYRA KUDICK here may be no respite for weary travelers in Rest Stop: Don’t Look Back, but fans confused by the plot of the film’s predecessor, Rest Stop, may find answers to the questions that plagued them. “I took the sequel to answer questions about the back story,” says writer and producer John Shiban. He says he both explains and expands on the history of the characters involved, making sure the film, the fifth in Warner Home Video’s directto-video Raw Feed line, works both as a sequel and a standalone film. Shiban declares the sequel to be “bigger, sexier and scarier” than the first. Richard Tillman (Over Her Dead T Body), Jessie Ward (“CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”) and Graham Norris (The Jane Austen Book Club) star as three new unsuspecting travelers who come to the rest stop in search of their missing friends. Instead they find the driver of the yellow truck and the creepy Winnebago family and not a small amount of torture. “It is more gruesome [than the first film],” Shiban says. The evolution of the story is explained in the bonus materials with the featurette “Doomed to Repeat: The Mythology of Rest Stop.” Other extras include commentary with Shiban and director Shawn Papazian, deleted scenes, an alternate ending and an additional scene called “The Owner’s Demise,” which Shiban shot himself and describes as “a fun little mini-movie.” THE ART OF WAR II: BETRAYAL Available Aug. 12 on DVD ($24.96) Sony Pictures Home Entertainment JOY RIDE 2: DEAD AHEAD Available October 2008 20th Century Fox Stars: Nick Zano, Kyle Schmid, Nicki Aycox BEHIND ENEMY LINES 3 Available Early 2009 Fox/WWE Stars: Ken Anderson, Joe Manganiello 46 AGENTDVD JULY 2008 AgentDVD.com http://agentdvd.com
