Gabrielle Reece Debuts Prenatal Fitness DVD By Angelique Flores FITNESS As an athlete and a mom, Gabrielle Reece is applying her knowledge toward a new workout for expectant mothers. The former pro beach volleyball star and model is starring in her first fitness DVD, Gabrielle Reece: Fit & Healthy Prenatal Workouts. Anchor Bay Entertainment will release the DVD Jan. 29 at $14.98. The DVD contains six workouts for women in the first two trimesters of pregnancy. The idea for a prenatal workout came from Reece while she was shooting her Express 15 Workouts for her health and fitness Web site, gotogabby. com. At the time, she was six weeks pregnant with her second child and thought it would “be cool to address real-time pregnancy.” Reece and her trainer, Mike Monroe, designed nine 15-minute workouts, which include a warm up and cool down, to address each month of pregnancy. “It’s not realistic to have one workout for the whole nine months, so I broke it up into trimesters,” she said. Having shot the videos during the appropriate stages in her own pregnancy, Reece said she feels the workouts are “very truthful” and authentic. Reece said that because each work- out is 15 minutes, each doesn’t require a huge commitment of time. “[This workout is] not a commitment of loads and loads of time. We just ask you to commit consistently,” she said. A second release will come in the fall with workouts for all three trimesters and post-natal recovery. “Gabrielle Reece is one of the best role models for women trying to live a healthier life, and we are so excited to be her partner in this,” said Bill Clark, president of Starz Home Entertainment, which owns Anchor Bay Entertainment. The 20th Century Fox Best Actor Collection has Wall Street (1987, Michael Douglas), Patton (1970, George C. Scott, who declined the award), Harry and Tonto (1974, Art Carney), The King and I (1956, Yul Brynner) and In Old Arizona (1928, Warren Baxter). The Fox Best Actress Collection includes Anastasia (1956, Ingrid Bergman), The Three Faces of Eve (1957, Joanne Woodward), Boys Don’t Cry (1999, Hilary Swank), Norma Rae (1979, Sally Field) and Walk the Line (2005, Reese Witherspoon).
