Arnold amily Guy Presents: Blue Harvest, an hour-long special from the saucy animated TV series, topped the national DVD sales chart the week ended Jan. 20, beating several new theatrical releases. Blue Harvest, from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, pays homage to “Star Wars,” with the DVD counting among its many extras an interview of George Lucas by “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane. The disc also is the first to include a digital copy for iPods. Lionsgate’s Good Luck Chuck, a recent theatrical that grossed $34.9 million at the box office, finished a close second on Nielsen VideoScan’s First Alert sales chart. But the film, which stars Dane Cook, did manage to F top Home Media Magazine’s video rental chart its first week out, generating an estimated $11.6 million, or one-third its total theatrical gross, just in rental stores. Another comedy, New Line Home Entertainment’s Mr. Woodcock, with Billy Bob Thornton, debuted at No. 2 on the rental chart, with $10 million in rental revenue, or 39% of its $25.6 million theatrical take. Mr. Woodcock bowed at No. 4 on the sales chart, just behind Lionsgate’s 3:10 to Yuma, a Western remake that is the top-selling DVD release so far this year. 3:10 to Yuma had debuted at No. 1 on the sales chart the previous week. Good Luck Chuck was the No. 1 Blu-ray Disc seller for the week, while The Kingdom continued its reign atop the HD DVD chart.
